Program: Mock Interviews (sign-up now)

Registration REQUIRED! To reserve your spot, register online through www.MICAnetwork.com.  Log in and click on “Career Events,” then search for “Mock Interviews.” OR select one of the times available via the links below.

20 minute time slots (10 minute interview and 10 minute feedback) from  3:00-5:00 PM Friday, March 23rd:

Sign up for a mock interview with a faculty or staff member that will better prepare you for the Internship + Career Fair. You can expect a quick 10 minute interview and helpful feedback to get those nerves worked out before the big day. You will walk away with a list of sample questions and tips for giving outstanding answers. To reserve your spot, call or stop by Career Development, 410-225-2420. This event will help students prepare for the Internship + Career Fair, where they may interview with employers and internship hosts.

The fair is almost here! Stop by during our Resume and Portfolio Makeover drop-in times for a 15-minute review. No appointment is necessary, first come first served. Please come prepared with a printed copy of your resume and/or portfolio.

Program: Art of the Interview

Please join us for a workshop on honing your interviewing skills. The workshop will be led by Erin Myers (‘96), Human Resources Director at Threespot, a digital engagement agency in Washington, DC. Topics will include ins and outs of interviewing for a creative position, including preparation, how to handle difficult questions, etiquette, follow-up, and dress.

Program: Prepare for the Fair!

Attend either one of our two Prepare for the Fair! sessions:

Tuesday, March 6th, 12 – 1pm in Main 110

OR

Wednesday, March 21st, 2:30-3:30pm in Brown 320

If you are planning to attend this Internship + Career Fair on Friday, March 30th, you should come to this session! 50 employers in one place can be a little intimidating, but being an informed participant will make your experience a positive one. We will review how to research employers and create a strategy for those you want to talk to. Other topics will include preparing your portfolio for a career fair setting, how to use business cards and resumes to make connections, what to wear and most importantly, how to be professional. A session not to miss!

The Portfolio Website Workshop Series

All creative professionals today need an online portfolio or website for their work.  Focusing on artists without prior web experience, these workshops will help you to create a simple site to display your work online and is open to all majors and skill levels. There will be a specific topic for each workshop.  You are welcome to drop in on one workshop or attend them all. The series will be on February 16th with the last workshop on April 12th, taking place every Thursday from 10:15 pm -11:15 pm in Brown 308.
