A student intern has the opportunity to work closely with designers, art directors, creative directors, writers, producers, and production artists to gain an understanding of the various skills required to develop high-profile projects that meet Apple’s rigorous standards.
Some responsibility includes:
• Assisting in the creation, organization, production, and implementation of Apple retail products, such as Apple Store graphics and signage, retail collateral, in-store. promotions, point-of-sale graphics, retail channel initiatives, and global merchandising solutions.
• Internal group responsibilities include comping and presentation preparation, special occasion projects, electronic file organization, and some studio maintenance.

Qualifications

Apple Marcom Film & Video Editing Intern

Paid/ Internship/ Summer

We are looking for an enthusiastic film student to join our Film & Video team. They will be closely involved in the day to day operations of our internal editorial department and learn about our post production process from start to finish. Responsibilities may vary from project preparation and organization to pulling selects, music and sound design searches, and editing —ultimately delivering the finished piece to web and keynote. They will become intimately familiar with the workflow between ingest and post as well as between offline and flame/mix. While working closely with our edit team, they will observe Apple’s creative process—from storyboard and brief execution to our internal approval process—all while obtaining a deep grasp of the level of detail that goes into each of our finished pieces.
Scope of Duties and Responsibilities include
• Prepare and Organize project for Editors
• Music search
• Pull audio and video selects
• Sound effects search and syncing in sequence • Pull content for rips and animatics
• Assist in finishing workflow to and from flame and mix.
• Export/post quicktimes for review process
• Simple editing jobs which may include blocking out boards/scripts for editor • Support lead editors in whatever capacity is necessary to move the job along

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in non-linear editing platform- preferably FCP7/FCPX

Marcom- Motion Graphics Intern

We are looking for an enthusiastic design student who is able to follow direction, but at the same time be self-motivated, to join our Motion Graphics, Film & Video group. We will closely involve them with the day to day operations within the group, projects may vary from video shoots, post-production, asset preparation to motion graphic animation. Our intern will get an understanding of how the Motion Graphics, Film & Video team play a vital role within Apple, especially in partnership with Retail, Web, and Channel.
Job responsibilities include assisting in creation/storyboarding, organization, production and animation across a range of deliverables including, but not limited to, screen savers, brag reels, attract loops, window displays, channel plinths, web quick tours, guided tours and keynote animations. The intern would get hands on experience utilizing their design and animation skills but at the same time may be expected to help out with non-creative tasks such as asset management and project archiving.

Qualifications:

We are looking for an intern with:
• Strong conceptual thinking – able to convey strong ideas in their design and animation, without just relying on visual effects
• A solid ground in basic design principles of type, color, layout and presentation. Not just an animator.
• Proven abilities in After Effects. Modeling, texturing, lighting and animating in Cinema 4D or Maya is a bonus.
• Ability to storyboard and convey ideas/motion through style frames

The ideal candidate has a proven track record solving complex interaction problems across multiple platforms. She or he has an eye for detail, and possesses a strong blend of interaction and visual design skills.

Description
The User Interface intern is a key player in determining the future design direction of Apple’s consumer apps. From brainstorming through implementation, the intern will work with members of the design team, as well as engineering, marketing and QA groups.
The ideal candidate can quickly grasp and translate highly complex problems into clean, understandable solutions. She or he should be able to communicate their designs through iterative, pixel-perfect workflows and be comfortable presenting them to all levels of the group.
