The Creative Studio at FleishmanHillard in Washington, D.C. is looking to hire a full-time design intern. We’re looking for passionate, innovative, creative thinkers, with strong design aesthetics.

We depend on our interns heavily. As a fully integrated member of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a variety of print, digital, interactive and motion projects. You’ll also get involved in the early stages of some of our most exciting and challenging projects.

Qualifications:

The Community Art Collaborative is a community arts-focused AmeriCorps program that has been hosted at MICA since 2004, and is funded in part by a grant from the Maryland Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism, and the Corporation for National and Community Service. In the CAC program, AmeriCorps members are matched with non-profit community organizations around the city, to serve year-long community arts residencies. In these residencies, members primarily facilitate after-school arts-based learning experiences that serve K-12 students in Baltimore City. Members also have the opportunity to facilitate art-making opportunities for community residents, recruit and manage volunteers, develop special projects, and gain valuable professional experience in the community arts and non-profit fields.

CAC also serves at the Community Arts Residency for graduate students in the MFA Community Arts programs, as a means of providing in-the-field experience during their graduate studies. Though, you do not need to be a graduate student to apply!

AmeriCorps is a national service program that engages thousands of people each year in service to their communities in critical areas like education, health, and conservation. All AmeriCorps program involve a ten-month commitment starting September through July. Benefits of the program include: a living stipend ($12,500 for the whole year), health insurance coverage, an education award of $5,550 upon successful completion of your service (which can be used to pay eligible student loans or other eligible educational expenses), tons of professional development, and access to MICA’s many resources.

In order to serve in AmeriCorps, you must be at least 17 years old, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident. Participation in CAC/AmeriCorps is conditional upon completion of a National Service Criminal History Check and other eligibility requirements. Community Art Collaborative Program

The Community Art Collaborative Program has 12 slots for 12 members next year (2016-2017). Each CAC member will be placed at a non-profit community arts organization in Baltimore City through a matching process at the beginning of the program year (September). At each “Host Site,” CAC Members will work with their organizations to develop a unique job description that will primarily focus on: facilitating after-school arts programming for K-12 Baltimore City students, engaging communities in special art projects for all ages that give voice to local priorities, recruiting volunteers, and providing general program support for the host sites.

CAC Member duties also include:

– Participating in professional development training workshops, hosted by the CAC program through out the year
– Recording data about art programs and write reflections in AmeriCorps Monthly Reports
– Maintain strong communication with the CAC Program Manager and Site Supervisors at each Host Site

As an intern with Studio In-Sight you will have the opportunity to:
– Bring your creative skills and help to mento Studio In-Sight clients to grow individually as artists. We encourage interns to share their interests, knowledge and artistic expertise;

MFA’s mission is to provide exhibit and professional development opportunities for artists and to provide arts education and outreach opportunities for all Maryland citizens. The MFA was established in 1963 by US Navy Commander Charles Holley, Mrs. Margaret Farmer, and a group of dedicated Annapolis-area artists interested in developing professional exhibit opportunities for Maryland’s creative community. Exhibition Fellowship

Fellowship/ Paid, $25,000/ Start Date: 6/1/16

The MFA Exhibitions Fellowship is a full time entry-level position in arts management, approximately 35 hours per week but more as needed, beginning June 1 2016 and ends June 30 2017. The Fellowship Award is $25,000 per year, payable at $2083.33 per month over 13 months and subject to relevant taxes. The Fellow may accrue up to 10 paid vacation days and there are no health benefits. The position is Sunday – Thursday at Circle Gallery, 18 State Circle, Annapolis MD 21401.

MFA’s Arts Management Exhibitions Fellow reports directly to the Executive Director. Duties include coordinating all aspects of exhibitions at MFA’s Circle Gallery and at other alternate locations, maintaining the database, promoting and selling artwork, assisting with special events and educational programs, and supporting the membership. The Gallery Manager may utilize member volunteers when needed for assistance. Gallery Manager must be knowledgeable of MFA Exhibition procedures.

MFA will provide structured professional development for the MFA Fellow including interviews with professionals in the field of arts management and workshops and/or classes in nonprofit management and fundraising.

In addition, the Fellow will work with the Exhibition Committee Chair and the Executive Director to produce his or her own exhibition including but not limited to choosing the theme/medium, announcing the call to artists, choosing the juror installing the exhibition and promoting the show.
